Recommended Steps for Families
Medical experts recommend the following to minimize our exposure to colds and flu and to prevent the spread of these illnesses – including coronavirus.
Staying Healthy During a Heavy Cold and Flu Season
You may be feeling worried about the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19. Given the widespread media attention, it is understandable that families feel anxious about the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19.
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. Remember to clean the ‘webs’ between fingers and thumbs.
Use hand alcohol-based hand sanitizers regularly, too.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Stay home when you are sick. Consult your doctor if your symptoms worsen.
Don’t return to work or school until you have been fever-free without the use of fever reducing medication for twenty-four hours.
Cough or sneeze into a tissue if possible and throw the tissue away. If tissue is not available cough or sneeze into the inside of your elbow.
Avoid others who are sick.
